Campus Pride on the road: HRC’s Time to Thrive Conference

Campus Pride will be presenting a workshop at The Human Rights Campaign Foundation 4th annual Time To THRIVE conference on    Friday, April 28, 2017- Sunday, April 30, 2017.

The workshop will be on College Prep for the LGBTQ High School Students. This session will review what is most important for LGBTQ youth in the college search process and ways to prepare for the first day of class. Individuals will also learn about the Campus Pride Scholarship Database. The HRC partners with the National Education Association and the American Counseling Association present , the annual national conference to promote safety, inclusion and well-being for LGBTQ youth…everywhere!

Robyn Ochs, one of Campus Pride’s Featured Speakers will also be presenting a workshop at the conference . The workshop will be on  Bisexual+ Youth: Challenging Stigma and Reducing Disparities. Bisexual+ youth (bisexual, pansexual, queer, fluid, etc.) comprise a majority of LGBTQ+ youth, and face higher rates of suicidality and intimate partner violence than even their lesbian and gay counterparts.  in addition to a workshop on Beyond Binaries: Identity and Sexuality. This program explores the landscape of sexuality, and how we “map” sexual orientation. No two people are alike.
