Please mark your calendar for this Charlotte Community Forum on Wed, Dec 17 titled: “Beyond Marriage Equality: Social Justice, Intersectionality and Southern Organizing for LGBTQ Communities” – Everyone is Welcome. The program is sponsored by The Freedom Center for Social Justice and Campus Pride.

Community Forum: Beyond Marriage Equality: Intersectional Justice & Southern Organizing for LGBTQ Communities

Engage in a social justice dialogue with other community members and local panelists. We will discuss the value of creating an “intersectional” framework for collective organizing that strengthens Charlotte and the region. Panelists will share their experiences and the often complex struggles of LGBTQ work beyond marriage equality. New strategies are being formed that consider race, ethnicity, gender, sex, class, age, ability, social status and other identities when establishing a path toward inclusion, safety and equity. Join us in the discussion.
