“For the last ten years, Campus Pride has had a long-standing commitment through our national college fair program to ensure every LGBTQ young person has a pathway to post-secondary education. This includes highlighting the ‘Best of the Best’ campuses that are the most LGBTQ-friendly,” said Shane Windmeyer, Executive Director of Campus Pride. “We are excited to have another year of growth and expansion with seven fairs in different cities and to continue our online fair providing greater access for all LGBTQ and ally youth.”

The Campus Pride National College Fair Program is the only one of its kind in the country assisting LGBTQ and ally students and their families prepare for post-secondary education. The fairs provide nationwide access to essential information about LGBTQ-friendly campuses, scholarships and the college admissions process. The Campus Pride National College Fair Program is designed to address questions from LGBTQ and ally students related to academics, student life and campus safety.

Campus Pride had over 140 different colleges participate in one or more of the college fairs in 2014-15.  In its tenth year, the program has more than tripled in LGBTQ youth attendance and college participation since its inception in 2007-08. Each fair is hosted with local partner organizations for LGBTQ youth and other service organizations.

“Now more than ever, LGBTQ youth and families want to know what campus is the best when it comes to academics, safety and inclusion.  The college fairs have been that place to find the campuses who take responsibility for LGBTQ youth,” Windmeyer said.

Campus Pride will also host the third annual Campus Pride National Online College Fair & Prep Day on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, designed for students to chat one-on-one with college reps and gain resources for finding LGBTQ-friendly colleges.  The Campus Pride Online College Fair furthers access for LGBTQ students to learn about LGBTQ-friendly campuses beyond the in-person college fairs.

College admission representative are invited to participate at the Campus Pride College Fairs by registering online at https://www.campuspride.org/collegefair/.  Early registration discounts are available for a limited time.
