Talise Mendoza-Green (She/They)

Queer Indigenous Youth Leader, Klamath Tribes in Southern Oregon

My name is talise mendoza-green. I am a queer indigenous youth from the klamath tribes in southern Oregon. I go by she/they and I am 21 years old and living in the city has been not only great for my queer self but hard for my indigenous identity. Being native and mexican, I have to world telling me who I should be, and yes while they both sometimes mash they sometimes are like oil and water. They do not mix well at times. Growing up i knew I was queer but didn’t want to say it out loud. Now being 21 im not sacred to say i am queer. I do have hardship in blending my worlds together. With one having such gender standards to one having less of gender standards, it’s been hard to find who I am. I love being queer I love getting to learn about the history of queerness. I’m so excited to get to show you what pride means to me.
