Miss Campus Pride National Intercollegiate Pageant

Campus Pride is hosting the first-ever national intercollegiate pageant for the art of female impersonation and performance for college students ScorpioGoldacross the country — Miss Campus Pride. The national pageant will be hosted in Charlotte, NC and is in partnership with our national sponsor The Scorpio, one of the most legendary LGBT nightclubs serving the South since 1968.

In order to be eligible, individuals participating must be 18 or above and must currently be enrolled with 9+ credit hours at a two year or four year college or university in the United States. By competing, students will represent Campus Pride and their campus the following year with the title of Miss Campus Pride along with the duties and responsibilities of the title.

When: Sunday, March 23, 2014

Where: The Scorpio, 2301 Freedom Dr, Charlotte, NC 28208

Admission: $10-15 Cover (Must be 21 y/o to enter or if under 21 yo accompanied by someone 21+ to enter)

Doors Open at 10:00p.m.

Pageant starts at 10:30p.m. 

MANDATORY:  Pageant Check-In for contestants only from 9:00p.m. To 10:00p.m.  You may bring one dresser only.

Individuals who typically present as masculine and would like to perform as feminine are invited to compete for the title of Miss Campus Pride. The event is inclusive of cisgender people and binary and non-binary trans* individuals.

Contestants will be judged in the following categories:

  • Campus Pride Creative Presentation  (Presentation should depict the theme “School Spirit”)  100 points
  • On Stage Question  75 points
  • Talent (6 min maximum performance, with additional one minute to set-up, and additional one minute to breakdown any set/props, etc., if needed)  150 points

Judging will be based on total points accumulated. Ties will be broken by the contestant with the highest talent score.

2014 winner will receive a prize package valued at $2500 in cash and prizes.

  • Featured Camp Pride Performance
  • $250 voucher for Campus Pride Programs (i.e. Camp Pride, Stop The Hate, College Fair, etc…)
  • Campus Pride “Show Your Campus Pride” T shirt

1st Alternate Prize Package Includes

  • $150 voucher for Campus Pride programs (i.e. Camp Pride, Stop The Hate, etc…)
  • Campus Pride “Show Your Campus Pride” T shirt

Entry Fee: The entry fee for the Miss Campus Pride Intercollegiate Pageant is $25 by Thursday, March 20th at 5:00pm; $40 after March 20th.  REGISTER using this form. Campus Pride will contact individuals to receive payment prior to event.  You may register the night of event with $40 CASH ONLY before 10 p.m.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Miss Campus Pride serves as a voice for LGBT and ally young adult leaders and works to uphold and fulfill the mission of Campus Pride.  Miss Campus Pride will work throughout the year to bring visibility to the organization, its resources, programs and services.  The title holder will assist with Campus Pride fundraising events across the country, volunteer and appear at events at various campuses representing the title.   Miss Campus Pride will also be responsible for giving up the title at the end of the one year and promoting the competition.
