Campus Pride celebrates Trans Day of Visibility and supports trans youth

Trans Day of Visibility

Today, March 31, 2022, is International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). Annually, people celebrate TDOV and Transgender Awareness Week to celebrate pride and raise awareness for the trans community. Read more about the importance of visibility and positive representation for trans people from the Human Rights Campaign report.

According to the HRC, 2021 was the deadliest year for the trans community. And more recently, states have been proposing anti-trans legislation, especially those that target trans youth. It is more important than ever to support your trans friends, family and peers. Support for friends and family of trans individuals can be found at translifeline.org/hotline/#familyandfriendshotline.
