Charlotte Uprising: Become involved locally for Racial Justice & Equity

Charlotte Uprising is a coalition of community members, local and state organizers committed to ensuring the safety of their communities, and advocating for police accountability, transparency and social and economic equity.

Campus Pride believes anti-racism work is LGBTQ work, and as such identifies promoting anti- racism as an integral part of its mission.  Each and every one of us has a role to play in advocating for racial justice.  The wrongful murders of innocent black lives is wrong and must stop.

Being based in Charlotte, NC, we believe that Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and City of Charlotte officials must be held accountable for the death of Keith Lamont Scott and we add our voice to the countless others requesting a full release of the video.  Police brutality must no longer be ignored across the nation and action must occur.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families. We will continue to be committed in our efforts, partnerships and support for systemic change in the fight for racial justice — and a society free from violence.

Please help support and get involved with Charlotte Uprising.  The following are highlights from the Charlotte Uprising website. Campus Pride wants every young person to be actively involved with their local community organizing, protests and volunteering opportunities.   We encourage you to visit the full site at CharlotteUprising.com.
