Campus Pride continues its HBCU Sports Inclusion Summit series with its third event on Monday, November 21 on the campus of North Carolina Central University in the Miller Morgan Auditorium 131. The event will feature a keynote by Out Gay Athlete and former NFL Football Player Wade Davis. Davis will talk about the important role of athletics on campus in creating a culture of respect and civility. Resources will be shared from Campus Pride to better improve athletic spaces and create inclusive policies, programs and practices in sports.
“Campus Pride is committed to helping provide additional support and the necessary resources for HBCUs like North Carolina Central University. Often HBCUs are overlooked, especially in athletics, when it comes to work for LGBTQ inclusion. The summit offers a deeper level of support from the community,” said Shane Windmeyer, Executive Director of Campus Pride. “North Carolina Central University was selected for their past efforts and work with Campus Pride. This summit is a way to highlight the positive progress and continue the journey.
This is the third, and final event in the Campus Pride HBCU Sports Inclusion project.
