Volunteer

Campus Pride requires the time, talent and skills of students from across the United States to continue to grow as the only national nonprofit organization for LGBT and Ally student leaders and campus groups. Please take a look at these volunteer roles and consider volunteering your expertise and energy to Campus Pride.

Current volunteer roles & needs:

Writer & Site Contributor(s)

Assist in offering features, articles, news and special resources for Campus Pride.  A great deal of flexibility is offered for writers who wish to create material for a diverse audience of college students and, or to specialize in a certain area.  Volunteers are all asked to be writers and site contributors.

Media Communications Assistant(s)

Responsible for scanning media for related news and will report opportunities for future content based on current events, as well as relay possible news to feature. Seek out possible media relationships for Campus Pride promotions of programs and services.

Community Communications Assistant(s)

Assist in planning and marketing educational programs, conferences, special events, as well as moderating and managing listserv and chat features.

Community Database Assistant(s)

Update a database of businesses, organizations, sponsorship opportunities, media outlets, etc. Assist with overall management of records for Campus Pride.

Event Sponsorship & National Corporate Sponsor Assistant(s)

Marketing the Campus Pride programs and services takes energy, time and knowledge of business relationships when it comes to promoting sponsorships.  This volunteer(s) will work hand in hand to promote the sponsorship opportunities with Campus Pride programs and services throughout the year.

Web Assistant(s)

Site development changes over time.  Campus Pride needs to seek cutting-edge resources and methods to network student leaders across the United States.  This volunteer(s) will work to develop special web features, write coding and create layout for future content from existing templates.

Content Planning Assistant(s)

LGBT student leaders need a variety of tools to help them make their student organizations successful, which is the primary goal of Campus Pride.  Content Planning Assistant(s) work to identify what those needs are, when they should be developed/featured on the web site, and help to find students and others to share their expertise in these areas.

Fundraising & Development Assistant(s)

There are financial costs associated with maintaining and expanding Campus Pride programs and services every year.  Development Assistant(s) work to meet fundraising goals, identify and cultivate individual donors, apply for grants and find other fundraising opportunities that will help fund, broaden outreach and continually improve Campus Pride programs and services.

To volunteer, please email info@campuspride.org. Please be patient with us since we do not have a volunteer coordinator. We rely on volunteers just like yourself to manage our daily volunteer activities. If you aren’t contacted in a timely manner, please give us a call at (704) 277-6710. If there are not volunteer opportunities listed that interest you, please let us know what else you would like to do. Thank you.

Campus Pride is the only national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus organizations working to create a safer LGBT learning environment at colleges and universities. It exists to develop, support and give "voice and action" in building future LGBT and ally leaders.
