queer., the only intercollegiate undergraduate journal for critical discussion around what it means to be queer. The international publication has editors at nearly 20 undergraduate institutions (private and public) across the United States and Canada. Approximately 12-20 submissions by undergraduate student writers are featured per issue. The publication represents the only internationally informed dialogue for queer young people at colleges and universites
queer. is published by Campus Pride (www.campuspride.org), the only national non-profit serving LGBT and ally student leaders at colleges and universities across the country.
queer. is distributed twice a year in the Fall and Spring to over 100+ campuses (Ivy League to Big 10) as well as at national conferences/regional events throughout the year. queer. readership is over 30,000 student leaders and a rapidly growing 5000+ distribution annually.
queer. is currently seeking a community of undergraduate scholars, writers, and artists dedicated to critical engagements with queer sexualities.
We primarily accept pieces in the following formats, but others are welcomed as well:
(re)actions – concise and powerful statements of about 800 words reacting to the current issue’s theme by, for example, complicating related questions, deconstructing them, or clarifying them
reflections – expressions in the form of poetry, fiction, and visual arts and resonating with the current issue’s theme
essays – academic pieces previously submitted for course credit reflecting the issue’s theme
