Campus PrideNet to Campus Pride
in Transition 06-07:
A Year of Progress & Change
Online LGBT Network Takes LGBT Awareness
to the Next Level

Moving the LGBT college community into the next generation, Campus PrideNet celebrates 5 years this Fall 06.  As part of marking the anniversary, the following new educational services and initiatives are underway, making 06-07 a year of progress and change for the leading national campus network for LGBT student leaders.

Campus PrideNet becomes a full-fledge non-profit and applies for its 501(c)(3) status under the new organizational name Campus Pride. As part of the new affiliation, the Lambda 10 Project for LGBT Fraternity & Sorority Issues (www.lambda10.org) becomes an educational initiative of Campus Pride.  The move makes Campus Pride the only national non-profit serving LGBT and ally student leaders at colleges and universities.

Campus Pride to publish queer., an undergraduate journal for critical discussion around what it means to be queer. The journal allows fresh perspectives and a professional voice from youth on sexual identities. The journal will be published twice a year, written and edited by young people at campuses across the United States. For details, please email info@campuspride.org

Campus Pride to launch the LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index National Assessment Tool, the most comprehensive benchmarking tool to help campuses become more LGBT-Friendly.  More information online at www.campusclimateindex.org

Campus Pride organizes the first-ever Queer & Ally Summer Leadership Camp for LGBT and Ally undergraduate student leaders from campuses across the country. The five day camp will focus on leadership skills, coalition building and networking with other student leaders. More info available at http://www.campuspride.org/camp.asp

Campus Pride to unveil new Campus Pride site with continued online support services and resources in 2007.

For more information on these educational initiatives and all of Campus Pride’s programs, please visit www.campuspride.org or email info@campuspride.org

Campus Pride is the only national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus organizations working to create a safer LGBT learning environment at colleges and universities. It exists to develop, support and give "voice and action" in building future LGBT and ally leaders.
