What's the Campus Q Team?
Campus Pride's goal is to build stronger LGBT & Ally student leaders and campus groups at colleges and universities across the United States. We believe that every member of the campus community has the right to live, learn and grow to their fullest--regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. The Campus Q Team is a new ongoing initiative for Campus Pride that will provide a grassroots network, campus partnerships and the opportunity to develop innovative resources for creating safer, more LGBT-friendly campuses. The Campus Q Team will serve as an effective leadership force to assist Campus Pride in better serving the needs of LGBT and Ally student leaders across the country.
Campus Pride is looking for 18 students in various regions of the United States who are devoted to serving LGBT and Ally student leaders in a national leadership capacity. The Campus Q Team members must support the mission of Campus Pride in building stronger LGBT and Ally student leaders and, or campus organizations. The focus of the Campus Q Team will be in the areas of leadership development, support programs and services to create safer, more LGBT-friendly colleges and universities. The Campus Q Team will further the mission of Campus Pride - "to develop, support and give 'voice and action' in building future LGBT and ally student leaders."
Who makes up the Campus Q Team?
The Campus Q Team reflects a diverse group of college student leaders from across the country. The primary composition of the Campus Q Team will be the role of Regional Ambassadors and a limited number of select Q Team Interns. Regional Ambassadors should be able to answer most, if not all, questions about Campus Pride resources, programs and services - such topics may include starting student clubs; organizing days of action; planning campus summits or trainings, and starting campaigns to change your campus policies/practices. Q Team Interns work to support operations of the Campus Q Team and serve as a conduit to communicate with the Regional Ambassadors.
What is the future of the Campus Q Team?
Campus Pride has high hopes that in a few years, 3 - 5 years at best, the Campus Q Team will grow to have 51 State Ambassadors (including Washington D.C.), 9 Regional Ambassadors and 2 Campus Q Interns. The program will be a nimble, dynamic leadership force that will mobilize LGBT & Ally student leaders in various regions of the country. The Campus Q Team will lead the way for Campus Pride in grassroots organizing nationally on college campuses.
